- Barbee Chain
of Lakes. This is a chain of seven small lakes situated just West of SR
13 and South of the town of North Webster. A public ramp is available on the
North side of Kuhn Lake and is accessible from SR 13. The speed limit on these
lakes is 10 mph (except Big Barbee - open speed limit) due to their size.
Also, Grassy Creek is accessible from these lakes at the North end of Sawmill
Lake. Boaters must pass through a tunnel and through a set of locks to access
Tippecanoe Lake (the ramp on Grassy Creek is on the Tippy side of the locks).
Boats under 16' in length can use the manual locks; pontoons and bigger boats
cannot reach the locks due to the tunnel under the road.

- Cagles Mill

(small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel. Visitor Information Center (at park).
The state's largest waterfall is here, plus historical covered bridge, all
near an Indiana State Park. Just east of Terre Haute off I 70.

State Park. 55 miles west of Indianapolis off U.S. 36.
- Huntington
Lake. Fishing, Swimming, Campsites without electric hookup, Restrooms,
Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp (small fee may apply), Marina,
Fuel. Just south of Huntington on Indiana State Route 5.
- Lake Maxinkuckee.
Boating, Fishing, Marina, Fuel, Ramps. Located just outside Culver Indiana.

- Mississinea
Lake. Fishing, Swimming, Campsites with and without electric hookup, Showers,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp
(small fee may apply), Marina. South of Peru off of Indiana 21.
- Monroe Lake.
Fishing, Swimming, Campsites with and without electric hookup, Showers, Restrooms,
Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp (small
fee may apply), Marina, Fuel. Near Indiana University, Indiana's largest lake.
Southeast of Bloomington in the Hoosier National Forest Purchase Area. U.S.
50 in Bedford closest to Dam.
- Patoka Lake.
8800 Acres, Fishing, Swimming, Campsites with and without electric hookup,
Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use,
Launch Ramp (small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel. Visitor Information Center.
Within the major area of the Hoosier National Forest Purchase Area. A major
recreation area is just west of the intersection of Indiana State Route 64
and Indiana State Route 145.
- Salamonie
Lake. Fishing, Swimming, Campsites with and without electric hookup, Showers,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp
(small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel. Visitor Information Center. Old locks
and a hanging rock are features here (downstream from the dam). Southeast
of Wabash and Indiana State Route 37.
- Syracuse
Lake. This lake is connected to Wawasee by a channel. The town of Syracuse
is situated on the Northwest shore of the lake. Camping and a public
ramp are located in downtown Syracuse.
- Tippecanoe
Lake. Fishing, Swimming, Camping, Marina, Fuel. Tippecanoe is the
deepest lake in the state and is nearest the town of Oswego. The lake is situated
West of State Road 13. Turn at the light onto CR 500N just South of North
Webster. The lake is on the North side of the road about 4 miles West of SR
13. The only free public boat access to Tippecanoe is by way of a DNR ramp
on Grassy Creek. Once launched, follow Grassy Creek North for approximately
one mile to the lake. Grassy Creek does become shallow in some spots in a
dry Summer. Other small fee ramps are available, one near the Paytona
Bay marina and the other near the dance hall.
- Wawasee
Lake. Swimming, Fishing, Camping, Boating. Wawasee is
the largest natural lake in the state at over 3,000 acres. There is one public
launch ramp maintained by the Indiana DNR on the South shore of the lake just
off Fish Hatchery Road. Wawasee is a great lake but can be very crowded on
the weekends. There is an on-water Fourth of July fireworks show every year
as well as a "boat-in-worship" service for boaters each Sunday during the
Summer. Both Syracuse and Wawasee Lakes are situated just East of State
Road 13 in Northern Indiana in the Town of Syracuse.
- Webster
Lake - Fishing. About 1 1/2 miles across, a good size lake with
a DNR ramp on Backwater Lake (attached to Webster via channel). Just off State
Route 13 in North Webster.
